Master of figurative work, mainly portraits Chambers was born in St. Louis and He was brought up in a devout Catholic household.
Like many American artists at the turn of the century, Chambers studied art abroad, first at the Berlin Royal Academy 6 years. He later studied at the Royal Academy in Vienna in Dresden. In 1916, Chambers returned to the States and settled in New York City. It was here that he painted this work of art.
